SDNPA hostile to solar farm development next to proposed fracking site in Fernhurst - on grounds of visual impact!

Noise, light and air pollution from fracking aside - would you rather look at solar panels than an oil drilling rig, gas flaring and heavy industrial traffic?

Double standards from the South Downs National Park Authority?

Renewable Power approached the SDNPA for pre-application advice on a proposed 40 acre solar farm at Becksfield Farm in Lynchmere.  The site is less than one mile further along the road from the site that Celtique are proposing to Frack.

The SDNPA were hostile to the solar farm development, mainly of the grounds of its visual impact, despite offers from the developers to screen the site.

In the face of overwhelming public opposition, why hasn't the SDNPA told Celtique that their proposal is unacceptable?
